📖 Scripture: Matthew 9:9 (NLT)
“As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. ‘Follow me and be my disciple,’ Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.”
💡 Devotional:
Matthew’s response to Jesus’s call was immediate and dramatic. He abandoned his wealth-driven lifestyle because he found something infinitely more valuable in Christ. Matthew reminds us that true freedom and fulfillment come not in accumulating wealth, but in following Jesus wholeheartedly. Today, consider what might be holding you back from fully embracing Jesus’s invitation. Are there things you need to leave behind to follow Him more faithfully?
📖 Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) – “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
