📖 Scripture: Luke 14:31-32 – “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.”
💡 Devotional:
Jesus uses the analogy of a king facing a battle he cannot win. The message is clear—humanity stands before God’s unstoppable kingdom. Trying to fight against God’s will is futile; surrender is the only wise option.
But surrender is not weakness—it is wisdom. When we lay down our pride, fears, and self-sufficiency, we are met with grace, not defeat. God is not a conqueror who destroys, but a loving King who invites us into His kingdom.
🙏 Reflection: What are you holding onto that you need to surrender to God? How can surrender lead to peace in your life?
📖 Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) – “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
