This October we are teaming with the Sunflower House in Shawnee (behind the PetSmart across SMPkwy from the church) for their annual Pumpkin Palooza. We are doing this in lieu of our own Harvest Party.
Sunflower House, A Child Abuse Prevention Center, is a place for children to be interviewed after a report of child abuse has been made. They work with the police and child protective service social workers to talk with children in a safe and child-centered location. Sunflower House is a place of hope and healing for children who have fallen victim to abuse.
Last year, we kicked off a relationship with the Sunflower House, and we are excited to continue it again in 2016. As a church, we donated nearly 500 pumpkins to be decorated and sold during this event.
We would also like your personal involvement. You can participate in one of three ways:
1. Attend Pumpkin Palooza: The event is free and family friendly.
2. Decorate a pumpkin: Pumpkins are sold and all proceeds benefit the Sunflower House.
3. Help with clean-up: We need a team of about 10 people to help clean up after the event. Contact Pastor Andy if you can help for about one hour beginning at 12:30.
