Hello Teenager,

Nick Adams of Cross Points Church in Shawnee KansasMy name is Pastor Nick and I am the youth pastor here at ZOE Youth Ministries.  I have been the youth pastor here since August 2008 and it has been such an incredible journey so far, but I know the best is yet to come.  I am writing this hoping that you will come and join me on the ride.

I grew up in “church” my whole life.  I went every week.  As a matter of fact, my family and I barely ever missed.  But I never really felt like I was connected.  I never really found my place.  As a Junior Higher, I was timid, shy, and reserved when it came to meeting new people and going to new places.  So I chose to never take that bold step to get involved in the youth ministry.  I continued to be connected with my sports teams and friends at my public school, but none of them were encouraging me to make right decisions. So on many occasions I didn’t. The happiness I thought would be there just wasn’t.

After my freshman year, I decided to take a step of faith. I went on a summer camp with the youth ministry at my church.  There I found a greater relationship with God, connected with a lot of new friends, and met a youth pastor that believed in me. From then on, that was my family away from home. There I could be who I was, I was encouraged to choose the right things for my life, and I found a place to belong.

That youth ministry that changed my life was ZOE. That church that was/is my family is Cross Points Church.

My desire for you is to find a place to belong. I would love to have the opportunity to be your youth pastor. I know taking the first step is intimidating, so we want to make it easy for you.

ZOE is on Wednesday Nights at 7PM. I want to encourage you to come to a brief visitor reception during our service. This is a casual opportunity for you to meet myself and a couple other leaders and teenagers. We will get you a drink and snack for the service, but most importantly we won’t send you into ZOE alone. If you came alone, we will connect you with someone who will be your host for the night. They will introduce you to people and help you to feel comfortable. Nobody likes to go to a service alone…and we don’t want you to either! The visitor reception meets at our café in our youth room (the one with couches, foosball tables, and pool table).

Our goal is to make this the easiest experience of your life.  I hope to meet you and welcome you to ZOE Youth Ministries.
